What We Do

The USDA has a government financial assistance program called the "Child and Adult Care Food Program". This program aids daycare centers with high volumes of low-income families by providing financial assistance to daycare centers willing to serve nutritious meals according to USDA standards. We provide the training and nutritional counseling needed for centers that wish to receive the financial assistance.

Daycare centers certainly have the right to participate in the food program directly with The State. We provide them with the option to participate through us. The State has given us permission to provide their initial food program training, establish them under our contract with the state, monitor their food program service, assist them with their paperwork, and provide the reviews and training necessary to stay within the state guidelines for Food Program participation.

With our help, daycare centers are able to spend more time and staffing hours actually serving the children, and preparing their food!

FP Assistance sponsors over 300 daycare centers throughout Texas! We train them how to feed their children nutritious meals according to the USDA food program standards. We monitor that they are feeding the correct portions to each child each day. We also help them receive the government funding available to centers who follow USDA guidelines.

Leah and Alva conduct the inital sign-ups and training for new centers. They also do many of the reviews, and on-sight training necessary to implement the program successfully.

Training is a vital part of sucessfully implementing the food program for our centers. We spend many hours each month on the phone, and on location training daycare staff at our centers.

/l/2300/2356_s.jpg We are a Non-Profit Company (established in 1995) to help meet our communties' needs in the area of childhood nutrition. We monitor meals for over 18,000 children each day! That means there are 18,000 children who are receiving nutritious meals while attending one of the centers on our sponsorship. We mail over $7 million in government assistance to needy daycare centers each year!

Childhood Obesity and Childhood Nutrition (as they relate to academics and the health of our nations young people) are what we are trying to affect in our Texas communities. We sincerely hope our efforts will help children, their families and the community to eat better! We sincerely hope our efforts will also help the State government offices save money by helping them administer the food program.

There are many thousands of daycare centers across Texas. It takes as much staff-power as possible to make sure that no daycare centers are left out because they do not know about, or are, for some reason, unable to participate in this awesome program.
